IN THE DIALOGUE OF SPACE AND MATERIAL
Decades of tourist intervention are making themselves felt in the Alpe Furx recreation area (Vorarlberg, Austria). Baumschlager Eberle Architects were invited by the private developer to obtain contemporary plans for 10 chalets and a main house with restaurant on the steeply sloping site. The result is an urbanistically pointed settlement with paths and squares with the best distant views and remarkable architecture. The ensemble is characterized by the careful handling of the terrain, the material wood and the reinterpretation of a traditional building typology.
