Details

It will be a public square, a place of passage, a pavilion where you can stop for a moment of rest and contemplation. The voluptuous curves of the structure evoke the importance of water in the history of Belval, and recall the days when the Bel-Val spring was both an economic lung and a synonym for the well-being of the community. Under the umbrellas like the clouds under which we take shelter on hot days, they provide cool shade and protection. They collect water and return it to the pools.

The Jury‘s Statement

With its circular design and the use of wood as a platform as well as for cladding the façade, the pavilion facility looks friendly, modern and inviting. The fact that the umbrellas not only protect against the sun but also collect the water when it rains in order to channel it into the pools conserves resources.
