hoch³, the university newspaper of TU Darmstadt, shows what contemporary science communication looks like: with a consistent facelift, the traditional newspaper has been transformed into a hybrid – as informative as a newspaper, as inspiring as a magazine. The confident use of colour and expressive typography create excitement and lightness, while the playful use of the grid opens up creative freedom and specially developed illustrations bring the content to life. The result is an aesthetic that presents topics in an emotional way and positions print in a modern light – without compromising the clarity of serious science communication.
