The Lunar New Year pavilion project at Pacific Place, a prominent shopping mall in Hong Kong, demonstrates an innovative approach that skilfully blends traditional Chinese design elements with a contemporary aesthetic. The simplified architectural elements, the reinterpretation of patterns and the streamlining of the Dougong structural system, capture the essence of traditional design without being beholden to its literal forms. By reimagining and simplifying traditional architectural motifs, we have created a visually captivating and immersive experience.

This temporary pavilion captivates with its successful fusion of traditional Chinese design elements and modern aesthetics. The reinterpretation and simplification of patterns and structures create a visually engaging experience that highlights the cultural significance of the Chinese New Year in a new light.
