Details
The former Düsseldorf home of the Schumann family has been restored as a “walk-in exhibit” in keeping with its listed status. From 1852, the musician couple lived here with their children. The exhibition provides insights into the couple’s family life and musical work. Visitors explore the thematically organised living rooms. Atmospheric exhibition furniture, illustrated ornaments and highlight objects, such as Clara’s swan feather coat, transport the viewer back to the Romantic era. Valuable original scores, numerous audio stations with musical samples and interactive stations bring the Schumanns’ world of the time to life. Photo credit: Simon Vogel.
