Details
The Uzbekistan Pavilion at Expo 2025 represents a visionary approach to sustainability and innovation. Designed with a modular, reusable timber structure, the pavilion draws inspiration from traditional Uzbek craftsmanship, blending cultural heritage with modern design. Key architectural features include a 'forest' of columns and a sculptural centrepiece connecting the roof garden to the interior. The design invites visitors to explore Uzbekistan's commitment to creating a sustainable and forward-looking society rooted in education. After the Expo, the pavilion can be reassembled to serve as a school or similar community facility.
The Jury‘s Statement
The Expo Pavilion impresses with its successful combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern design, which has also become highly iconic thanks to its sculptural design language. The modular wooden construction reflects Uzbekistan's cultural heritage. The social aspect of reusability as an educational facility is particularly noteworthy.
