Details
Woori Hospital of Korean Medicine is a medical facility operating both traditional Korean and contemporary Western practices. Korean medicine is perceived as less aligned with contemporary biomedical frameworks. Communicating the lineage of Korean values and their technological evolution, the core inspiration was derived from traditional paintings and traditional housing, "hanok." Maintaining a contemporary yet hygienic atmosphere, we’ve interpreted the traditional values through design structure and an amalgam of industrial materials. With ceiling extensions, redesigning the traditional window, the design solves the tightness of the site.

A harmonious interplay of tradition and modernity defines »Woori Hospital of Korean Medicine«. Inspired by Hanok architecture and traditional paintings, the interior unfolds a clear, enduring atmosphere. Bold industrial materials meet subtle details that authentically convey Korean values. Especially impressive is the sense of spaciousness achieved through carefully designed openings and ceiling features. This project demonstrates in an outstanding way how identity and function can be effectively combined.
