Kuro Mori

Asian Fusion meets Black Forest. Freiburg's latest restaurant and culinary benchmark id called »KURO.MORI« (Japanese for black forest) and was designed by MEISSL architects for Steffen Disch. The goal was to harmonize the innovative, culinary concept and the spatial design. Referring to the Asian-influenced culinary approach of the well-known TV and star chef, the architects developed an extremely linear and reduced formal language for the elongated space. Partly protected as a historic monument, the building is situated next to the city’s market hall and provides the perfect setting for an inviting and relaxed restaurant.
