Details
The renovation of the kitchen in the single-family home in Zurich’s Oberland transforms both space and atmosphere. Previously, black-and-white contrasts and cool concrete prevailed. Now, finely tuned textures create openness and vitality. The key move: the kitchen island rotates 90 degrees, linking kitchen, living, and dining into one flowing whole. Light limestone with seating niches offers quality of stay, while lightly smoked oak brings warmth and rhythm. Existing elements were integrated—allowing the home to grow organically, with the kitchen as its everyday heart.
The Jury‘s Statement
The subtle rotation of the kitchen island gives »Isola Ceppo« an exceptional spatial presence. Limestone and smoked oak create a harmonious interplay of brightness and warmth. Existing elements are sensitively integrated, resulting in a characterful connection between kitchen, living and dining areas. The elegant execution and impressive quality of stay make this project particularly worthy of recognition.
