Sofitel Park in Cotonou is a 16ha subtropical park around the new Sofitel Hotel and renovated CIC centre. The sculptural canopy by LOOSvanVLIET links the entrance, conference garden, art park, and hotel garden. Each zone reflects its surroundings through themed gardens, artworks, and shaded gathering spaces. Red-flowering trees, lush tropical plantings, and gardens inspired by West African wax print patterns create a vibrant identity. Refined materials, preserved trees, water mirrors, and roof gardens enrich the design, forming a biodiverse and climate-responsive environment.
