Details
The Hauptbahnhof Nord underground station in Hamburg is being carefully redeveloped as a listed heritage building. The principle of pointed reduction and addition preserves defining elements of post-war architecture and makes the original spatial qualities tangible again. Existing structures and materials are refurbished and complemented by durable, resource-efficient elements. Technical upgrades, accessibility and safety are implemented step by step while the station remains in operation.
