Details
CRA's Urban Vision for Manifesta 14 Prishtina, "Commons Sense," reclaimed public spaces via temporary design using an ‘open-source’ process. Employing mapping, AI analysis, and local student collaboration, these interventions let residents decide on permanence with several pedestrianization interventions across the city. The Urban Vision also spearheaded the renovation, carried out by Manifesta, of a former library into a new cultural center.
The Jury‘s Statement
Commons Sense" has managed to turn unused public space into an inspiring place again. The redesign as part of the Manifesta 14 exhibition in Prishtina is convincing due to its participatory approach as well as the clever implementation of temporary design. This project impressively shows how you can achieve a great effect with few means through the holistically thought-out use of design!
