From the leitmotif of the Gleisharfe, three overarching green corridors emerge, which zone the competition area and serve as connecting green elements. In the southern part, along the existing halls, the Gleispromenade acts as a connecting axis to the DHL logistics centre and the Siemens Rail Campus located to the west. Within the competition area, four development areas are evident. The new neighbourhoods combine high-quality residential areas with diverse urban functions and commercial spaces.
The Jury‘s Statement
The creation of green corridors and open spaces, as well as the use of rooftops for solar power and rainwater collection, is not only sustainable, but also enhances the quality of living in the new neighborhoods.
