Details
The “Lichthöfe” in Munich represent forward-looking office architecture that harmoniously unites tradition and modernity. Commissioned by MünchenBau, Brückner Architekten designed four offset buildings with light-filled courtyards that foster identity, well-being, and communication. A distinctive sawtooth roof references the industrial heritage of the Maxvorstadt district. The result is a place of clear materiality, flexible structure, and high architectural quality – sustainable, identity-forming, and firmly rooted in its urban context.
The Jury‘s Statement
Flooded with natural light, the courtyards create a charismatic center that powerfully stages the dialogue between tradition and modernity. »Lichthöfe« impresses with its distinctive architectural language, striking materiality, and subtly considered reference to the site's industrial past. The consistent combination of sustainability, quality of stay, and urban presence distinguishes this project in an outstanding way and sets benchmarks within its field.
