Details
The new building of the Max Planck Institute in Hamburg is a highly specialized research building for ultrafast processes in matter. The building on the Bahrenfeld campus offers state-of-the-art laser laboratories, chemistry laboratories and workshops. An open “knowledge landscape” with cell and communication zones promotes interdisciplinary exchange. A central atrium connects the levels up to the cafeteria on the upper floor. The terraced, green roof landscape serves as a recreational space and public path - a strong sign of sustainability. The result is a place for cutting-edge research with technical precision and architectural clarity. Photo credits: Landschaftsarchitektur+ und Werner Huthmacher.
