Quality instead of quantity. Living space is scarce, but the wooden modular construction offers a solution. The reduction of living space per capita was achieved by creating small apartments with a space-efficient floor plan and high-level design quality. Beside the establishing of opportunities for incidental meetings to promote social exchange the focus also remained on sustainability with regard to construction and building operations. “Cube68” is a pure timber construction comprising 68 fully equipped modules which can be dismantled and repurposed. The staggered arrangement of the modules ensures the adaptability in other locations.

Precisely designed micro-apartments create a well-conceived, harmonious living environment despite their compact size. Subtly integrated communal areas encourage social interaction, while sustainable materials and serial construction offer a contemporary response to current housing needs. The combination of architectural quality, sustainability, and social relevance is particularly outstanding.
