Haus G. - Vis-à-Vis dem Vulkan

From its exposed hillside setting and views of the extinct volcano, House G. unfolds a spatial dramaturgy between landscape, interior and the striking volcanic cone from the moment of arrival. The building follows the topography and opens selectively towards the panorama. Inside, changing ceiling heights, compression and expansion, and precisely framed views create a museum-like sequence of spaces. The interior extends into the landscape, while carefully orchestrated sightlines repeatedly draw the gaze back to the volcano, establishing it as the spatial counterpoint to the house.
