Set into the steep slope, the house with granny flat is anchored by a solid base containing the flat, entrance, cellar and garage. Additive walls shape the basement and emerge from the terrain, establishing a direct relationship with the topography. Above, the main volume centres on a compact core of bathroom, kitchen and staircase, serving as the structural and functional centre around which living and dining spaces are arranged. A spacious hall on the upper floor orients the bedrooms towards the landscape. A continuous wooden skin envelops the building, articulating its volume through subtly offset layers from one storey to the next.
