The De Flo employment aid centre in Cologne offers work and counselling for people who are able to work and whose living conditions are associated with social difficulties that they cannot overcome on their own. For the De Flo site, the facility was expanded with three shared flats with 17 single rooms and 20 flats for outpatient living with the latest standards, the existing building was technically optimised as part of the expansion measures and equipped with a meeting place and a café.

A distinctive interplay of living, encounter and employment defines »DE FLO«. The architectural design combines differentiated color schemes, green spaces and inviting meeting areas into a harmonious whole. Especially impressive is the subtle yet powerful way in which social participation is enhanced. This project thus sets a meaningful benchmark for integrative residential forms and meets the demands of excellent residential architecture in a remarkable manner.
