Caption is the first lifestyle brand of Hyatt to open in Japan and has opened a window into the possibility of a new role for hotels in the future society. The central space, called "Talkshop," which also serves as an all-day dining, is a community-platform that connects “people, activities, and place”. Talkshop is not an event space, but an attempt to allow guests to experience the local area by visiting markets and shopping streets while staying at the hotel. Moreover, these initiatives are mainly in collaboration with small local businesses, with the aim of revitalizing the area. Also involved in a number of sustainable initiatives.
