Details
Residential building as a tribute to the historic street name “Beco da Pedra de Águia” (Eagle Rock). The energetically self-sufficient building complex on a hillside plot is made of sandblasted exposed concrete that imitates the rough texture of the rock. The architecture, inspired by a curved eagle's wing, conveys the dynamic movement of flight and seems to be partially lifted off the ground. Large expanses of glazing offer a clear view of the lagoon, the ocean and the surrounding nature.
The Jury‘s Statement
The hillside residence elegantly interprets its natural surroundings, creating a harmonious connection between structure and landscape. The use of sandblasted concrete mirrors the area's rugged texture, while the curved forms evoke a sense of movement and lightness. »Eagle Rock House« provides uninterrupted views of nature through its expansive glazing, while meeting contemporary sustainability standards.
