As early as 2017, the active use of demolition material was included in the planning for the restructuring of "Grande Armée - live". The task of Baumschlager Eberle Architekten was to transform the Peugeot headquarters on the Avenue de la Grande Armée in Paris into a contemporary working environment. 5,165 tonnes of old building fabric could be recycled. The modernist structure was retained and subjected to a sensitive yet striking reinterpretation.
The Jury‘s Statement
The fact that thousands of tons of old building fabric were recycled for the modernization of the Peugeot headquarters on the Avenue de la Grande Armée in Paris saves resources and CO2. An exemplary building concept that once again shows how sustainability and prestigious architecture can be perfectly combined.
