Details

The Seoul Children's Grand Park is the first large-scale urban park in Korea opened in Seoul in 1973. We connect the park to its urban context. We actively engage with environmental issues and pursue coexistence with natural ecosystems. The harmonious arrangement of components within the circular image calls to mind the earth, expressing the concept of coexistence intuitively. The Park aims to realize the intrinsic value of ecology and environment by linking the city and the park.

The Jury‘s Statement

The design concept for the Seoul Children's Grand Park B.I. cleverly plays with the iconic silhouettes of animals, plants, people and other elements typical of the park. A wide range of different silhouettes allows for countless configurations. In the process, the loving combination of shape, colour and typology not only has a timelessly modern effect, but is also attention-grabbing and emotional.
