Details
Bucheon City was the first city in Korea to introduce the concept of city identity(CI), and is taking a leap forward as a city of the future by developing a new city and being selected as a UNESCO Creative City of Literature. The new CI was expressed based on ‘name’ of Bucheon City. We attempted a differentiated approach by combining the Korean initial ‘ㅂ(bieup)’ and the English initial ‘b’, reflecting the city’s characteristics of diversity, connectivity, and dynamism.
The Jury‘s Statement
The new brand identity innovatively combines the Korean letter 'ㅂ (bieup)' with the Latin 'b', reflecting the cultural diversity and dynamic development of the city. This visual connection highlights the uniqueness of the city and reinforces its position as a UNESCO City of Literature.
