The central highlight of the WICONA fair appearance was a suspended, monumental Möbius loop sculpture made of scrap aluminium (dimensions: 7.5 x 4.0 x 2.6m). Almost 8000 aluminium parts were individually threaded and suspended for this purpose. Two oversized mirrors facing each other had the effect of a hall of mirrors and reflected the aluminium parts into infinity. WICONA's aspired circular economy and its products were made tangible both visually and haptically through this installation.
The Jury‘s Statement
The Möbius loop made of aluminum scrap in the center of the WICONA trade fair stand translates the theme of recycling in a spectacular way. The object generates a high level of attention, remains in the memory and encourages sharing on social media.
