Details
The Cultural Complex housing the Music Library takes its motif from a piano and a drum—its mass recalling a drum resting on a grand piano. Located on the lower level, like the piano’s body, the Music Library translates this idea into its interior. A duplex structure inspired by the piano’s silhouette forms the spatial core, where the flow of melody unfolds visually and functionally. Waves of sound appear in concentric floor patterns and furniture, while the rhythm of light expresses musical vitality. By visualizing sound, the space lets visitors not only listen to music, but feel it through architecture.
The Jury‘s Statement
A finely tuned spatial concept lends »Music Library« a distinctive character. The harmonious interplay of acoustic optimization, clear lines, and subtle color accents creates an atmosphere that is both inspiring and inviting. The consistently executed design impresses by uniting functional and emotional qualities at the highest level – a remarkable example of excellently designed public interiors.
