Details
With its 440 sqm pilot area in a central location, the City of Duisburg demonstrates how administrative work can be made future-ready. A modular, openly zoned concept offers three usage areas – open space for collaboration, a coffee point for community and quiet zones for focused work – enabling flexible work styles. The design draws on the industrial character of the inland port, combining robust existing structures with transparency, daylight, and adaptable furnishings. Developed through a participatory process, the space fosters openness, motivation, cultural change and serves as a test area for a sustainable new administrative building.
