The idea is simple: Slow Eyewear is creating a sustainable eyewear collection through reduction and simplification – in terms of materials, design, production location, and packaging. The collection is based on six basic shapes and one material per frame. Produced in the company's own manufactory in Switzerland, the collection benefits from short transport routes, lower energy consumption, and an easy return to the recycling process. The material used is bio-based and made from castor beans. Also inspired by nature is the innovative ball joint – which gives the collection its name, BIONIC. The collection is represented by the latest model, BAILA.
The Jury‘s Statement
A consistently reduced formal language shapes »BAILA« and is authentically realized through the bio-based material from castor seeds. Especially remarkable is the subtle integration of all components into a single material, creating a harmonious aesthetic. The distinctive collection impresses with timeless elegance, ergonomic precision, and a coherent interplay of sustainability and style—an outstanding example of forward-thinking design at the highest level.
