Details
Freyjugardur is a public garden dedicated to the voices of Icelandic female poets. The park features lyrical inscriptions on bookstands from five contemporary poets. Light bollards guide visitors along a pathway, welcoming them into this serene space. 2700K lighting creates a gentle ambiance that minimizes distraction while maintaining safety. A decorative lantern creates a comforting space, while RGBW lights highlight a canopy of leaves above, shifting colours to mark special occasions. A mural artwork 'Yggdrasil' transforms at dusk, when a gobo projector frames the centrepiece and raises heads of passers-by for a spectacular discovery.
The Jury‘s Statement
A finely tuned lighting concept creates a powerfully tranquil atmosphere and guides visitors through »Freyjugarður«. The interplay of gentle bollards, atmospheric color accents in the canopy, and an aesthetic lantern is harmonious and subtle. Especially impressive is the fusion of light and art at the Yggdrasil mural, which becomes emotionally resonant at dusk and powerfully emphasizes the poetic tribute to female poets.
