Details

The Fortress, dating from 1765 and listed by IPHAN since 1938, was part of Florianópolis’ defensive system. Its complex of walls and three buildings received lighting that emphasises the architecture, reinforcing the construction's protagonism in the landscape with low-intensity diffuse light to reduce pollution – as the objective was to keep artificial light sources imperceptible, avoiding physical interference in the historical building. Historical elements, such as cannons, gained direct lighting, while vigils were softly lit with warm tones, evoking their function. The entrance received pendant lamps referencing the vaulted space.
