Details

A new timber bridge serves as a link to the world's largest flower auction hall in Holland. With a total length of 140 meters and a width of 3.2m, the multi-span beam bridge extends as a continuous timber block girder with a constant cross-section, supported by prefabricated concrete columns. Prefabricated concrete deck slabs and a steel railing with mesh infill and wooden handrail are attached to the timber girder. These panels protect the timber girder from rain. The timber girder is tapered by 30° to protect against driving rain. Special feature: the elevator towers are also made of wood. Cooperation: wUrck architectuur, Rotterdam.
