ETH Zurich’s new Data Center (HRZ), together with the boiler house, pump house, cooling tower and auxiliary service building, forms an infrastructure ensemble on the Hönggerberg campus. The timber-hybrid construction combines load-bearing cross-laminated timber walls with concrete supports, enabling large spans while minimizing material use. Exposed wood surfaces, prefabricated elements and a hybrid energy and ventilation concept define the building’s design.
