The village structure of Lech is characterized by the river that shapes the landscape and the hill of the Church of St. Nicholas, which is visible from afar. The new buildings form a green area with the existing church hill and solve the “missing link” to village identification. Permeability is the overarching organizing principle and largely an essential part of a democratic order and atmospheric character. Like the onion skin principle, the rooms are layered inwards. To the same extent there is a graduated relationship to the village public and the inner experience.
