jisan-dong 989-6 project parallels Viktor Shklovsky’s “defamiliarisation”. Just as the feeling of defamiliarisation does not come from the new, but from the familiar, the “unfamiliar appearance” starts from the everyday appearance of the neighbourhood. This project is an architectural composition that is a contemporary interpretation of the neighbourhood in the spirit of defamiliarisation. The composition evokes the sense of an everyday neighbourhood and restores its original freshness.
