Details

With the renovation of the heritage-listed buildings by Ferdinand Wagner (1953 / 1957), the originally separate structures were transformed into a harmonious ensemble and expanded with a new building. In close coordination with the Crespo Foundation, a house was created for the foundation’s social, artistic, and educational activities, as well as a structure with a representative character. The aim was to integrate studios, workshops, administrative offices, and exhibition spaces.

The Jury‘s Statement

A harmonious interplay of existing and new structures defines »Crespo Haus«, creating a place with strong identity. The transformation interprets the historical context with impressive clarity, subtly and elegantly integrating studios, exhibition, and work spaces. The project stands out with its charismatic presence, offering a relevant, enduring venue for social and cultural activities. Outstanding quality that sets a benchmark in public architecture.
