Details
Inspired by Taiwan’s iconic irrigation ponds, reinterpreting rippling water as two overlapping sloped roofs. Like a lightweight hat floating above, the structure channels rainwater downward, while a central cut-out opens to the sky and allows light to pass through. 40 slender columns support interlocked volumes that rise naturally from the ground. Nighttime lighting—curved lines, wall washers, and uplights—adds radiance and transparency. Materials of rammed earth, mineral panels, concrete, glass in beige and grey hues echo the terrain. With natural ventilation and a slatted rear entry, the high-ceilinged space achieves comfort and elegance.
The Jury‘s Statement
The subtle fusion of architecture and landscape defines »Qingpu Sales Center and Show Flat« in a fascinating way. Two distinctive sloping roofs, slender columns, and a carefully considered lighting concept lend the building a memorable elegance. High-quality materials, natural ventilation, and the consistent connection between inside and outside make this project an impressive example of outstanding public architecture at the highest level.
