Details
The new school in Ruda Śląska, built on land affected by decades of coal mining, replaces an unsafe, tilted prefab from the communist era. Its modern, geology-adapted, modular design eliminates collapse risk, allows classrooms to adjust if the ground shifts, and features green courtyards and atria that foster social connection. The project demonstrates how innovative architecture and careful planning can transform degraded land into safe, functional, and inspiring spaces. Completed in just three months through close collaboration with geologists and the local mine, it provides a resilient environment for future generations.
