Details
The Studio House, within the walls enclosing the plot, both a dwelling and an atelier—separate yet complementary volumes that open onto two different streets through two patios, one facing east and the other west, reflecting the differing levels of the neighbourhood’s topography. The void between the volumes is articulated through the patios and a garden, over which generously sized, well-defined openings are arranged, opening at the confluence of house and atelier spaces and imparting fluidity to the area between the walls.

The nuanced arrangement of volumes with two courtyards and sensitively placed openings creates a memorable dialogue between transparency and seclusion. Especially the subtly staged transitions between studio and residence demonstrate a distinctive, timeless architecture that is exemplary within the Gold distinction.
