Details
The extension completes the existing building volume on the north side with a new spatial layer and an annex to form a large Z-shaped form. The old and the new are blended into an overall complex whose building length is structured by projections and recesses and tied together by a strong scratched plaster facade and a new roof termination. The velvety-textured plaster facade, together with the fine metal and cast stone work, creates a lively and differentiated appearance for the building.

The extension for the retirement and nursing home in Büren combines well thought-out functionality with appealing form and aesthetics. The substance preservation achieved through renovation not only saves costs, but is also good for the environment.
