Details
This semi-detached house in the South Tyrolean village of Feldthurns is the answer to the desire of two clients to find a space where they could share their common passion for sailing. Starting from a modern reinterpretation of the classic gable roof, the body of the building splits in the middle and forms a whole there again. The two halves, facing south-east and south-west respectively, reunite into a harmonious whole through the element of water with the south-facing pool and through the glazed staircase at the rear.
The Jury‘s Statement
How the architecture translates the theme of 'sailing' into an elegant semi-detached house succeeded elegantly and with high quality. The centrally divided gable roof, which houses the staircase, not only gives the building its own identity, but also creates a physical separation of the two volumes and thus maximum privacy.
