A new guest house with seven suites and a farm-to-table restaurant has been built in the historic centre of San Candido. Its shape and orientation create an independent building that, at the same time, retains the connection and formal character of the village's historic buildings. The use of local wood is in harmony with the use of exposed insulating concrete, hand-crafted terrazzo floors, plasters and roof tiles.
The Jury‘s Statement
The ATTO guest house fits harmoniously into the neighborhood with its manageable size and through the construction method based on the traditional architecture of the region. At the same time, the gable-shaped windows give the building a special aesthetic.
