Details
A four-story multifamily residential complex that animates the streetscape and forges unusual connections between tenants and their environs. The building contains pocket gardens inserted into the facade with public loggias. The treehouse dimension, created by weathered steel arching members that frame the ancient sycamore tree, engenders a playful way of life. The loggias, replete with low water palm trees, allow for working down the hall from one's apartment, with all tenants having access.
The Jury‘s Statement
The four-story building captivates with its unusual steel girder construction, which with its organic design language and rust color is reminiscent of tree branches and thus creates the association of a tree house. A beautiful idea that gives the clear and timelessly elegant architecture with its large windows an unmistakable identity.
