Details
The day care centre sets new standards by completing the quarter with its large urban form and the group rooms appearing as six individual houses. The large glass facades connect indoor and outdoor space and reveal the breathtaking garden and play area. The natural materiality with lots of wood inside and outside is enlivened by subtle coloured elements. The generous free space follows the architectural as well as child-friendly design.
The Jury‘s Statement
The daycare center in Großenhain not only comprises a modern ensemble of buildings, but also an elaborately designed outdoor play area that makes children's hearts beat faster. The different design language of the buildings creates a lively silhouette, with the high common rooms reaching into the gables being the highlight with their large glass fronts and lots of wood in the interior.
