Details

Haixin Bridge is the pedestrian landscape bridge across the Pearl River in Guangzhou China. It connects Ersha Island in the north and Guangzhou Tower in the south. The architects prioritized the integration of urban public spaces in the design approach. The Haixin bridge becomes a dynamic and transformative public space that serves as a vital connector for the city. It embraces the riverside city center zone with an open posture, creating an unrivaled panoramic view that overlooks the Pearl River's core scenic area. The design concept is deeply rooted in the regional cultural identity, which is fully reflected in its architectural features.

The Jury‘s Statement

The pleasantly wide and partially covered “Haixin Bridge” pedestrian bridge with its lush planting is more than just a traffic route over a river, but rather conveys the feeling of a promenade for strolling. In this way, the bridge becomes a lively, changeable meeting place that also offers a great view of the Pearl River and the spectacular urban backdrop.
