Circular Logistics Leads with Reusable Packaging
25, 73, 100, 0, 1, 2. Sometimes the right sequence of numbers leads to a lottery win. In this case, it's the formula behind one of the most prestigious accolades in design: Circular Logistics' shipping box can be reused up to 25 times, saves 73% CO₂, is 100% recyclable, and generates 0 packaging waste. It is 1 of 2 projects awarded Gold in the special category Circular Design at the German Design Awards 2025.
The idea behind Circular Logistics began with Christine Collins, founder of the start-up, who originally designed a protective, reusable and space-saving box for travel. From this concept, a holistic solution for e-commerce logistics took shape.

From Travel Box to Circular Solution
Instead of cardboard that ends up in the bin after a single use, Circular Logistics relies on a durable, reusable box. It’s robust, modular, made from recycled plastic, and fully reintegrated into the cycle. Thanks to a smart deposit system and seamless digital infrastructure, there’s no added effort for senders or recipients – just a smarter, more sustainable way to ship.
“The innovative reusable large packaging stands out with its foldable design, providing a sustainable solution for the bicycle industry while significantly reducing the ecological footprint. Its durability and reusability highlight the potential for application in other industries.”
Statment of the jury of the German Design Awards 2025

What convinced the German Design Awards jury? The project’s consistent, system-wide thinking. This is a solution that embraces circularity down to the last detail – ecologically, economically and in its design. It’s a tangible example of how design can actively drive the shift to a more sustainable economy.
That’s what the German Design Awards celebrate: design that doesn’t just look good, but creates real value for people, for systems, for the future. The Circular Design category shines a spotlight on pioneering ideas that rethink how we use resources and turn transformation into reality.
