The ageing of the population is becoming more serious in China, under this background, we try to offer a third choice for the elderly in China, other than staying at home or nursing homes. Our project aims to integrate the building with the surrounding rural environment, make it a destination for the old to experience the pastoral lifestyle and appreciate the countryside leisure, while satisfying the privacy and comfort at home, it is also a health-care community which provides specialized facilities.
The Jury‘s Statement
The concept of creating a residential complex for the older generation that enables them to live a largely self-determined life in old age without having to forego health care is of social relevance. The project convinces architecturally formally and functionally on a high level and with a great sense for details.
