Details

BaleBio is an 84 m² pavilion in Bali that demonstrates regenerative architecture for tropical contexts. Developed as part of Bauhaus Earth’s ReBuilt Project, it is the first structure in Bali to use structural laminate bamboo sourced from rural agroforestry and locally manufactured. Drawing on vernacular forms and community collaboration, it integrates nature-based and reused materials to restore ecosystems, strengthen rural economies, and celebrate cultural heritage. A Life Cycle Assessment confirms its carbon-negative footprint, proving the potential of regenerative materials to deliver social, ecological, and economic impact.
