The new permanent exhibition “Railways: Revolution and Everyday Life” at the German Museum of Technology Berlin spans 1,700 sqm in the historic engine shed of Anhalter Bahnhof, tracing railway development up to 1914. It highlights innovations and places railway history in cultural and political contexts. At the same time, it links to today’s debates on sustainability and mobility. Large-scale images, media installations, and interactive stations bring history to life; exhibit islands structure and deepen the thematic interpretation. The result is an impressive experience welcoming more than 700,000 visitors each year.
