UNI_JOY

Description

For the UNI_JOY project, anySCALE was tasked with bringing new life to a portion of the Joy City shopping mall in the Chaoyang district of Beijing. A large 1,000 sqm section of the fourth floor was cleaned up to create a young and fresh new concept. The area was designed as a live event space with dance club elements such as a bar, DJ table and lighting displays not traditionally expected in a mall setting. Aluminium panelling was also used throughout to give a floating feel to the environment.

Statement of the jury

The live event area, complete with bar, DJ booth and light displays, is given a futuristic aesthetic thanks to the almost complete reliance on aluminium cladding, which creates a special atmosphere.
