ZOOM TOGOSHI GINZA

ZOOM TOGOSHI GINZA

Description

The nine-story building is located in a low-rise residential and a high-rise commercial district. The third, fourth and fifth floors are recessed to control the sunshading effect. The visually enhanced horizontal slabs mitigate the verticality of the volume. The allocation of the balustrades defines the openness and closedness in appearance and creates the ever-changing facade.

Statement of the jury

The vertical design of the volume is broken up by the highly-visible horizontal lines of the different floors that give it a vibrant structure. The measure also makes the design look very modern and high quality. Floors with different widths break up the distinctive recesses and cut-aways of the sculptural architecture even more.
